Warragul is a town in Victoria, Australia, 102 kilometers (63 miles) south-east of Melbourne. Warragul lies between the Strzelecki Ranges to the south and Mount Baw Baw Plateau of the Great Dividing Range to the north. The town is named after an Aboriginal word (either Woiwurrung or Gunai / Kurnai based on location) means "wild dog". As per 2016 census, the city had a population of 14.276 people. Warragul is part of a larger urban area which includes nearby Drouin who had an estimated total population of 37,928 on June 2018th Warragul is the main population and service centers in the West Gippsland region and the Shire of Baw Baw. Warragul station is manned V / Line station located south of Warragul CBD. The railway station is at Bairnsdale V / Line rail link, which services the towns of Bairnsdale and Southern Cross Station in Melbourne. Warragul is a modest bus network consists of four lines within the city limits. Each path has a frequency of three services per day. There are also bus services to nearby cities. The Warragul bus network has recently been upgraded with Myki technology installed on all city buses. This ticket system has been implemented on V / Line train services during 2014-15.
