Velipoje (definite Albanian form: Velipoja) is a village and a former municipality in the Shkodër County, northwestern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform became a subdivision of the municipality of Shkoder. The population census of 2011 was 5031st Velipoje located at the mouth of the Buna River (the only navigable river of Albania), where it flows into the Adriatic Sea at the same time forms the natural border with Monte. The municipality has a church-sponsored daycare several primary schools, two secondary schools and a gymnasium. There is also a small theater and a thriving local football team, KS Ada Velipoje and earth.
