Scottsdale Reserve is a 1328 hectare (3280-acre) nature reserve on the Murrumbidgee River in south-central New South Wales, Australia. It is 79 kilometers (49 miles) south of Canberra, and 4 km (2.5 mi) north of Bredbo. It is owned and managed by Bush Heritage Australia (BHA), which bought it in 2006. The purchase was supported projects aimed at connecting the existing fragmented residual habitat K2C (Kosciuszko to the coast). Since 1870 until 2006, was the land used for agriculture - mainly sheep grazing with some minor pruning. A significant component of Reserve (about 25%) has been cleared of native vegetation (~ 300 Ha). The reserve is in the country historically attributed to Ngunawal people. Aboriginal presence, the likelihood of the availability of resources such as the Bogong moth (Argotis infusa) and daisy yam (microseris lanceolata). The Murrumbidgee River would have been a good source of fish including trout cod (Maccullochhella macquariensis) - currently listed as threatened under the Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act 1999. The river would have provided water for many species of terrestrial animals of aborigines are known to have been used for food including Brushtail possum (Trichosurus Vulpecula), Eastern gray kangaroo (Macropus Gigantus) and swamp wallaby (Wallabia bicolor). ....
