Quindalup is a small town in the southwestern region of Western Australia. It is located along Caves Road between Busselton and Dunsborough on Geographe Bay. At the 2016 census, Quindalup had a population of 1,336.The area was the site of one of the earliest timber industries in the state. Several lumber mills were constructed in the area and the products are exported to use a bridge which had been constructed on the coast in the 1860s. The first recorded use of the name was a log mill owned by Henry Yelverton and McGibbon. Land was set aside by the government in 1870 and 1899 local fishermen a petition for a city to be declared along the beach. Lots examined in the same year, and the town was gazetted in 1899.The called Aboriginal origin and means instead of Quenda. The city was located near a shallow inlet where the bridge was built, which was used to load the timber sent by a tramway, the boats that would ferry the timber for the boats anchored a few kilometers offshore.The only parts of the original settlement that is left is the slab cottage group, known as Harwoods Cottage, constructed c. 1860 associated with the original timber mill. The cottage group consisting of a cabin, jail, post office, telephone exchange and the Customs House. The buildings were almost abandoned until restoration is planned in 1998, began in 2000 and the business was opened for business in 2000 with accommodation opened in 2004. ....
