Lago Potrero de los Funes circuit is an Argentine motorsports track originally built in 1987 and rebuilt in 2008. It is 14 km (8.7 mi) from San Luis, the capital of San Luis Province, Argentina. The circuit is semi-permanent, with a length of 6.27 km (3.90 ml). It was created by modifying the ring road that surrounds Lake Potrero de los Funes, the course center. The circuit has received very high praise from drivers for its big waves and many fast corners and curves, which provide a great driving challenge. The track layout has been slightly modified from its original layout. It seems that the curve ahead of where pits are tightened to create a more pronounced corner before the pits, and perhaps to reduce speeds on the racing line that runs past the new pit exit. On the opposite side of the lake where the start / finish used to be located, has a chicane added at the first high speed bend along this stretch. Even at the initial run down along the lake, there has been another chicane added to reduce rates in the following corner which has limited runoff. Therefore, the original course is slightly shorter length 6.186 km (3.844 mL). .... Learn more at Wikipedia
