Peshkopi (definite Albanian form: Peshkopia) is a city in Dibër County, northeastern Albania. At the 2015 local government reform became a subdivision of the municipality Dibër. The population census of 2011 was 13,251.It located 187 km (116 mi) from Tirana, capital of Albania, and 20 kilometers (12 miles) from the Macedonian border. It sits 651 meters (2136 feet) above sea level. It is the capital of both the county (Albanian: qark) and districts (Albanian: rreth) of Dibër. It is the only county capital of Albania who do not share its name with the municipality. Peshkopi is located east of the Black Drin river. The Drin valley is the lowest part of the area. The mineral ores such as chromium, sulfur and marble has been detected in the area. It is also an important industrial center in Albania, especially in relation to food. .... Learn more at Wikipedia
