Mount Barrington, a mountain that is part of the Mount Royal Range, located in the Barrington Tops plateau in the Mid-Coast Council of New South Wales, Australia, and has a height of 1,555 meters (5,102 ft) above sea level. Now the remains of a volcano, Mount Barrington, former Barrington Volcano erupted close to its current peak between 44 and 54 million years ago. The outbreak caused a 700 cubic kilometers (170 cu mi) basalt flow, covering a large part of Barrington Tops plateau. The lava was up to 1000 meters (3300 feet) thick. The extensive area grow in the rain forests on a large part of the resulting red / brown earth. Gemstones such as zircon, sapphire and ruby formed from volcano. Nearby Carey's Peak is considered a valve in the extinct shield volcano. The surrounding area is covered by the Alpine Snow Gum forests, the rainforest on steep edge and the fire free ravines. ....
