Mayrhofen has a railway station, which is adjacent to the Zillertaler Bundestrasse. The station is a terminal for all train services operated by Zillertalbahn, the valley's main public transport operator. The railway running between Jenbach and Mayrhofen itself, and there are several intermediate stations, which provides access to many of the valley's well-known ski areas, namely Zell am Ziller (Zillertal 3000) Fugen (Spieljoch) and Uderns (for Hochfügen and Kaltenbach ski areas). Railway operates all year round, although additional 'special' services in the summer work, such as a steam train service. The Zillertalbahn also runs bus services in the valley, regularly and covers a large area. Additional services also work in winter, to provide for the ski season.
