Hengshui High School (simplified Chinese: 河北衡水中学; traditional Chinese: 河北衡水中學; pinyin: Héběi Héngshuǐ Zhōngxué), also known as Hengshui High School of Hebei Province, is a prestigious high school in Hengshui, Hebei Province, China. It was established in 1951. Hengshui High School is a semi-military school, which means that its students must obey a strict set of rules and regulations. Students are all required to study more than 15 hours per day and almost 7 days per week. Nicola Davison of The Daily Telegraph wrote that therefore "In Chinese media Hengshui High is often compared to a prison camp". Alice Yan of the South China Morning Post stated that "The military-style schooling has been proven to work."Beginning in 2000 and As of 2015, of all the high schools Hengshui High had the highest number of students gaining admission to the highest ranked universities in Mainland China.
