Gympie is a city and a town in Gympie Region, Queensland, Australia. Located in the wide Bay Burnett district, Gympie about 160 kilometers (100 miles) north of the state capital, Brisbane. The city is located on the Mary River, flooding the city regularly. Gympie is the administrative center for Gympie Region area.
