Gosford is a New South Wales suburb located in the heart of the Central Coast Region, approximately 76 kilometers (47 mi) north of Sydney CBD. The suburb is located at the north end of Brisbane water, comprising a northern branch of Hawkesbury River estuary and shared Bay. The suburb is the administrative center and CBD in the Central Coast region, which is the third largest urban area in New South Wales after Sydney and Newcastle. After the formation of a combination of the former City Gosford and Wyong Shire Council has Gosford earmarked as an important backbone of the CBD in NSW Metropolitan Strategy. The population of the suburb was 3499 in 2016 census. but there were 169.053 people in the Gosford area in 2016.
