Gloucester National Park is a national park in Western Australia, 281 km south of Perth and about 3 km from Pemberton. This park contains Gloucester Tree, a known Karri tree. Visitors may climb to a viewing platform 61 meters (200 feet) above the ground, by means of pins inserted in the climbing tree. The tree and the park is named after the then Governor General the Duke of Gloucester visited the area 1946.The trees served as a fire lookout and had the platform, cabin and climbing poles installed in 1947, was one of eight overlooking trees constructed in the area between 1937 and in 1952. by 1963 it was estimated that over 3,000 people had climbed the tree, and in 1973 the original wooden house was demolished and replaced with an aluminum and steel cabin and gallery.Another attraction in the park is the Cascades, a cascading waterfall in Lefroy Brook. ....
