Crows Nest is a national park on the Darling Downs in southern Queensland, Australia. It is divided into a number of sections which are located in both the Crows Nest and Grape Tree, 40 km west of Esk in south-east Queensland bioregion. A 236 hectares National first declared 1967. The park has been extended south along the Great Dividing Range and now comprising 17.9 km2 (6.91 sq mi) .The geology of the area dominated by granite with arched slabs. The vegetation in the park are mostly open eucalypt forest. Species hoop pine, weeping bottlebrush, river she-oak and swamp mahogany can be found along the stream banks. The main rivers in the park is Crows Nest Creek, a tributary of Cressbrook Creek, itself a tributary of the Brisbane River. Approximately 4% of the park's rivers wetlands.Crows Nest is known for its rugged scenery, waterfalls, and a sparkling gulf called the Valley of Diamonds. This valley is so called because of the mineral feldspar, glistening in the sunlight. Lookout, wild moorland, wildlife observation and bird watching are popular attractions for visitors.
