Coffin Bay Peninsula is a peninsula located on the south-western part of the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia. It extends in a north-westerly direction from its connection to the Eyre Peninsula and bounded by Coffin Bay, Port Douglas and Yangie Bay in the north, the Great Australian Bight to the west and avoid the Bay to the south. Its limbs are Point St. Isaac the north, point Whidbey in the southwest, Point Longnose in the Northeast and Point avoid the Southeast. Its name derives from Coffin Bay, named by Matthew Flinders February 16, 1802, after Sir Isaac Coffin, 1st Baronet. Even parts of its surface has been cleaned and used for agricultural purposes in the past, is currently occupied by the protected area, Coffin Bay National Park. .... Learn more at Wikipedia
