Cinco Saltos is a town in the province of Rio Negro, Argentina, located on the east side of the valley of Neuquén River near Pellegrini Lake about 20 km (12 mi) from northwest of Neuquén and 25 kilometers (16 miles) of Allen. It has 19.819 inhabitants as per the 2001 census [National Institute of Statistics and Census of Argentina]. The name Cinco Saltos (literally "Five Waterfall") refers to the level of five steps of the canal which begins upstream of Ingeniero Ballester Dam and passes through the eastern boundary of the city.
