Binna Burra is a parcel of private land and mountains in the town of Binna Burra and surrounded by Lamington National Park in Queensland, Australia. It is also a town in the Scenic Rim region. Lodge is located in the northeast corner of Lamington Plateau of the McPherson Range, 75 km (47 mi) south of Brisbane. It is marketed as an ecolodge and was one of the first nature-based centers to be established in Australia. In 2000 the resort was the first commercial accommodation supplier awarded Green Globe Certification in Australia. Lodge and other aspects of the built environment at Binna Burra are listed on the Queensland Heritage Register as Binna Burra cultural landscape. In September 2019, the area was hit by forest fires and the historic lodge was destroyed.Binna Burra means "where the Antarctic beech trees grow" in the local Aboriginal language. ....
