The Gastein valley is provided for Tauern Railway, a large rail running from Schwarzach St. Veit in north Alpine Crest by Tauern tunnel Spittal an der Drau, Corinth in the south. Frequent EuroCity and InterCity trains running along this road connecting Bad Gastein with many Austrian cities of Vienna, Linz, Salzburg and Graz along a single chip. The b167 Gasteiner Straße highway also passes right through the Gastein valley. Through traffic from the northern branch of Lend in the Salzach Valley pass the lower municipalities Dorfgastein and Bad Gastein before it reaches the center of Bad Gastein. But Bockstein at the head of the valley, continuing south to Mallnitz in Carinthia require cars to roll on a commuter train (Autoverladung) for a short trip through the Tauern tunnel.
